London, UK – 29 June, 2022 – Jeeves, the financial platform for global startups, today announces the appointment of Roberto (Rori) Alvarez Cadavieco as General Manager of EMEA. Responsible for growing the fintech’s presence across the region, Rori will be focused on helping more startups scale internationally and combating the struggle many face accessing finance through traditional providers.
Based in Madrid, Rori returns to Europe with over a decade of experience in the burgeoning Latin America startup ecosystem, where SMBs represent 99.5% of businesses in the region. Like their European counterparts, founders in LATAM are turning to credit to power their international ambitions after experiencing the hassle of legacy finance management tools and applying for loans.
Rori faced these challenges during his time as Groupon’s youngest chief executive for Mexico, and at Grin Scooters, which swiftly became the world’s fastest growing micro-mobility provider under his CEO tenure. Having seen the value of revenue-based lending and smart finance tools in fuelling growth, Rori will use his experience to deliver the same impact for the startup community in EMEA.
Rori’s appointment follows a period of strong growth for the fintech company. Fuelled by unprecedented demand for its platform, over the last year, Jeeves has secured unicorn status reaching a valuation of $2.1bn, recorded 3000 global clients, and launched its flagship debt-based lending service, Jeeves Growth, in the UK and in Europe. As the company goes from strength to strength, it now has ambitions to open three regional offices across North, South and Central Eastern Europe over the next 12 months.
