ServiceMaster Restore is pleased to announce the merger of two highly successful franchises. ServiceMaster Restoration Services and ServiceMaster Elite have entered into an agreement to combine their companies. The combination of these two restoration businesses will support more communities coast to coast while guiding them from crisis to resolution. The collaboration of these organizations represents a substantial step forward in the restoration industry, where large entities such as this don’t commonly exist. This joining represents an emerging trend within the restoration industry.
To better understand how owners Charles Hoage and Alan DeGeorge found their way to uniting their businesses, we should first look to the backgrounds of each individual. Both Charles and Alan attended business school and started in healthcare and finance before pivoting to the restoration industry. After discovering ServiceMaster Restore could provide ideal support for first time business owners, while also driving longtime success and growth in a recession resilient industry, each created businesses centered around providing excellent customer service. This success allowed both ServiceMaster Restoration Services and ServiceMaster Elite to open and operate multiple locations.
ServiceMaster Restoration Services and ServiceMaster Elite have many synergies between them, which will be strengthened by the joining of their companies. Customer satisfaction is a critical factor in the success and longevity of both businesses. Charles and Alan made providing a consistently positive customer experience their number one focus for long-term customer retention, acquisition, and profitability. The results they have cultivated are some of the strongest within the restoration industry. While a profitable business is important, Charles and Alan believe in giving back and providing a healthy work life balance. Charles’ ServiceMaster is headquartered in Benicia, CA and has become involved in several community programs. Their main focus is on two initiatives, one where they are impacting California’s large homeless community by participating in homeless camp cleanups. The other program they are largely involved with focuses on special needs youth, where they sponsor an annual carnival. Alan attributes their success to his employee-focused business model which grants a better work life balance.
After individual success on opposite ends of the nation, Charles and Alan aspire to lead their businesses into nationwide success in restoration of homes and businesses by uniting East and West Coasts. They believe it is the right decision at the right time to bring the best of both – the strong operations and industry background and sales expertise – to continue to help make the combined business even stronger, more scalable and positioned for even greater growth. When asked what they were most excited about in this transaction, Charles and Alan said it best:
“Our teams have each individually helped build exceptional businesses – bringing those combined talents and resources together will position us to deliver best-in-class service to even more partners around the country.”
Although this integration is new, Charles and Alan have already been collaborating, allowing them to provide the largest ServiceMaster Restore presence that mobilized for Hurricane Ian in September, the aftermath of which is ongoing. Charles and Alan are profound thought leaders with a great foundation based on their 10-year friendship and background.
By uniting these strong businesses from the East and West Coast together under one roof, they are positioned to drive continued growth and deliver world class service. It’s exciting to see all that this partnership will continue to achieve.
