Schöppingen, 08 November 2021 – Shopware AG, a leading provider of ecommerce solutions, today announces that it has promoted Josua Seiler to Chief Product Officer and Ralf Marpert to Chief Financial Officer.
Seiler and Marpert will join co-CEOs and founders Stefan and Sebastian Hamann and Chief Operating Officer Winfried Hering in the top-level management team. The two new hires have been made in response to Shopware’s sustained growth in recent years and will be critical in setting the business up for further expansion in the future.
A business driven by expertise and knowledge
As Chief Product Officer, Josua Seiler will be in charge of driving the further development of the Shopware product family, which acts as one of the biggest drivers of the rapidly growing Shopware ecosystem. Seiler has been at Shopware since 2019 as Director of Product, but has connections to Shopware since 2012. He is also founder and CEO of Conexco, an agency which, as a Shopware partner, was significantly involved in the development of Shopware 6, the company’s latest iteration of it’s flagship platform. Before founding Conexco, Seiler was part of the founding team of pauldirekt GmbH, one of Germany’s leading online shopping clubs.
Ralf Marpert has been at Shopware since 2013 in the role of Director of Finance, People & Culture. During his leadership, Shopware recorded revenue increases of around 30% year on year. Marpert is skilled in risk management and all central procurement and contract matters and has also played a significant role in developing the company into being one of the most attractive employers in the Münsterland region, with Shopware winning multiple awards with the ‘Great Place to Work’ initiative.
Driving further growth

In 2021 alone, more than 100 new employees have started work at shopware AG, which means that the software manufacturer has expanded its headcount to over 300 employees. In the last month, Shopware made some critical new hires into its international management team, with the introduction of ex-Magento employees Kathleen Claes to the position of Director of Partnerships & Alliances and Katy Wilson to Partner Manager, who will be overseeing activity in the UK market.
